Staff Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect the platform and set the warehouse/lakehouse direction
• Design and run batch and streaming pipelines (CDC, ELT, real-time)
• Define canonical datasets, models, and data contracts
• Own data quality, observability, integrity checks, and monitoring
• Design for regulated environments with role-based access, masking, and auditability
• Build feature pipelines to enable AI/ML and analytics workloads
• Establish data engineering practices, tooling, and CI/CD

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production data systems
• Expert SQL and strong Python skills
• Deep experience with modern lakehouse/warehouse ecosystems (e.g., Snowflake/dbt/Fivetran or Databricks/Spark/Delta Lake)
• Strong data modeling skills (dimensional, normalized, or Data Vault)
• Experience with pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect)
• Experience with large-scale processing (Spark)
• Production experience on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience working with sensitive or regulated data

Preferred Qualifications

• Payments, fintech, or regulated-domain experience (PCI DSS)
• Streaming infrastructure experience (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink)
• Experience with data governance and observability tooling
• Experience supporting ML/AI workloads (feature stores, MLflow)
