Staff Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Own the analytical strategy for a major product area, identifying high-leverage questions and defining measurement frameworks.
• Serve as a strategic partner to product and engineering leadership, translating ambiguous problems into actionable recommendations.
• Define north-star metrics and measurement strategies to evaluate progress and manage product trade-offs.
• Design and oversee experiments and causal analyses to ensure methodological rigor in product decisions.
• Analyze user growth dynamics, including acquisition, activation, and retention, to diagnose trends and anticipate risks.
• Mentor and elevate other data scientists through code reviews, methodology guidance, and the creation of reusable frameworks.
• Drive alignment across data science, engineering, and product teams on data quality and metric definitions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied quantitative analysis.
• Deep expertise in experimentation (A/B testing) and causal inference.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis, modeling, and validation.
• Proven experience defining and owning product metrics that drive decision-making.
• Demonstrated track record of mentoring or technically leading other data scientists.
• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional analytical initiatives from framing to stakeholder alignment.
