Staff Design Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, refine and ship reusable and accessible components, tokens, and interaction patterns
• Contribute code to production and support Product Designers using agentic coding tools
• Establish LLM guidelines that align with the design system
• Create internal guides and configure internal tooling to help designers adopt generative AI
• Define and maintain visual language, guideline documentation, and component libraries
• Improve the contribution model for scaling new components
• Track and recommend latest tools and resources
• Advise on the balance between AI tooling and human expertise

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience in design systems
• Proven track record of setting design system vision and driving adoption
• Proficiency with modern design tooling (Figma, design tokens, component libraries)
• Strong technical fluency in React, TypeScript, and Storybook
• Experience working with APIs and automation platforms
• Deep understanding of accessibility compliance (WCAG AA standards)
• Regular user of LLMs like Claude or ChatGPT in professional workflows
• Ability to provide a portfolio or case studies demonstrating impact

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with post-Figma design-to-code and code-to-design AI tools
• Experience with agentic automation and spec-driven development
