Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architecture of the core platform including React, Node.js/Express, Postgres, and AWS ECS
• Drive the JavaScript to TypeScript migration and establish engineering standards
• Design and extend ETL pipelines and config-driven AI integration frameworks
• Define and execute technical strategy for integrating ML/AI models into the core platform
• Lead technical design reviews and create architecture decision records (ADRs)
• Mentor engineers across all levels to grow the team's collective capability
• Partner with product and clinical stakeholders to scope and de-risk technical initiatives
• Identify and resolve systemic technical debt

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years in a senior or staff-level role
• Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript in production environments
• Strong command of React, Node.js/Express, and Postgres
• Proven experience designing distributed systems or data pipelines on AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda)
• Significant experience architecting and deploying production-grade ML/AI systems and LLM integration
• Track record of technical mentorship
• Experience in growth-stage startups

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare or regulated data environments (HIPAA, PHI)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues, or streaming pipelines
• Prior experience as an engineering manager returning to an IC track
• Contributions to open source or engineering blogs/conferences
