Staff Engineer - Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design, own and contribute to the cross-division data architecture, establishing patterns and standards
• Lead the technical strategy for integrating data products across divisions
• Drive the AI and backend infrastructure roadmap, including data pipelines for LLM-powered features
• Mentor engineers and elevate the collective technical ceiling
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and ML teams to translate business needs into scalable architecture
• Establish best practices for data modeling, pipeline design, and system observability
• Evaluate and prototype emerging AI and generative AI technologies
• Participate in engineering planning and roadmap prioritization
• Join the engineering on-call rotation to maintain production system health

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
• Proven experience designing large-scale data systems in multi-product environments
• Proficiency with cloud data warehouse technologies like Snowflake or BigQuery
• Experience building streaming and batch data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, or Airflow
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML capabilities and LLMs into production data systems
• Strong Python and Data Architecture expertise
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Track record of technical leadership and mentorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes or containerized infrastructure
