Staff PHP Engineer

About the Company

Lendable is a leading fintech unicorn on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We have rebuilt major consumer finance products from scratch and are expanding rapidly into new international markets.

Responsibilities

• Drive the launch of a new mobile finance product for the Mexico expansion team
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to guide API behaviors and expectations through documented contracts
• Work closely with product stakeholders to agree on MVP requirements
• Build relationships with established product teams to align on approaches and leverage existing learnings
• Maintain a high degree of ownership and autonomy within a small cross-functional team

Requirements

• Based in Mexico or willing to relocate to Mexico
• Strong English language skills (written and spoken)
• Modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+)
• Proficiency with a modern PHP framework such as Symfony or Laravel
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, Event Sourcing, and CQRS
• Excellent automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with microservices architecture
• Experience working on financial systems
• Experience using AI tooling to accelerate productivity
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment
