Staff Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure topology, scaling, blast-radius boundaries, and cost ceilings
• Build validation gates, idempotency checks, and drift detectors to enable agent-operated infrastructure
• Diagnose novel failures in distributed systems including consumer lag and materialized-view chains
• Manage reliability and capacity for a target of 500K events/sec using Karpenter and HPA tuning
• Own security boundaries including IAM/IRSA and secret rotation
• Lead incident response and encode fixes as automated runbooks and regression tests

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience operating production Kubernetes and AWS at scale
• Strong Terraform and GitOps/Kustomize practice
• Experience with incident response for distributed systems (databases, streaming, data integrity)
• Fluency in data systems including Postgres, columnar stores, and streaming buses
• Ability to design guardrails and runbooks for AI agent-operated workflows

Benefits

• Base salary between $190,000 and $230,000 USD
