Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architectural decisions that span multiple teams and services
• Identify and resolve high-priority technical risks and systemic issues
• Own the technical direction of cross-team initiatives from inception through delivery
• Contribute production-quality code using Python and React
• Lead major refactors and modernization efforts to improve performance and maintainability
• Write and review Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipeline configurations
• Serve as a technical mentor to senior and intermediate engineers
• Partner with Product Owners and QA leads to shape roadmap priorities
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve infrastructure automation and cloud resource efficiency on AWS

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years at a senior or staff level in a distributed, product-focused organization
• Deep expertise in Python and modern web frameworks (Django, FastAPI, or Flask)
• Working proficiency in React or a comparable frontend framework
• Strong command of distributed systems, service decomposition, and API design
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD toolchains (Jenkins, Helm, ArgoCD)
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience in the healthcare technology sector (HIPAA compliance)
• Familiarity with message queue systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Experience with observability platforms (New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana)
• Experience with GoLang or other backend languages
