Staff Software Engineer, Platform

About the Company

EasyLlama is on a mission to end checkbox compliance. We're building an AI-powered Human Risk Management platform that helps organizations reduce risk through modern training, policy management, phishing simulations, and intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for Platform Engineering
• Architect, build, and operate highly scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails
• Design and operate Kubernetes infrastructure, cloud architecture, and deployment pipelines
• Build and evolve the platform powering AI products, including LLM orchestration and agent infrastructure
• Own the billing platform, including subscriptions, payments, and Stripe integrations
• Design and maintain secure enterprise integrations using REST APIs, OAuth, SAML, and SCIM
• Lead architectural decisions and mentor engineers through technical leadership

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Expert-level Ruby on Rails experience
• Strong React experience and full-stack capability
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and cloud-native infrastructure
• Deep experience designing distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
• Strong understanding of SQL, database design, and caching
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI-native products or internal AI platforms (LLMs, RAG, vector databases)
• Experience with Stripe or subscription billing platforms
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm)
• Experience with event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, SQS, NATS)
• Experience with SOC 2 and cloud security best practices
