Staff Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales Account Executives to engage in technical discussions throughout the buying lifecycle
• Create and deliver high-fidelity presentations, custom demos, and sample solutions
• Help customers design, build, and implement Crossplane and Upbound Cloud architectures
• Define, implement, and test early proof of concepts
• Collect detailed customer requirements for product and engineering teams
• Act as a technical voice and trusted advisor to customers
• Project manage accounts pre and post-sale to ensure smooth implementation

Requirements

• Experience in pre-sales, consulting, or equivalent in an enterprise environment
• Proven ability to develop relationships with engineering and executive teams
• Experience guiding customers through designing and deploying Kubernetes in production
• Deep understanding of scaled services and infrastructure across major cloud providers
• Experience deploying and integrating CNCF and Cloud Native Landscape projects
• Proficiency with modern operational tools like Terraform, CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Active involvement or contributions to the upstream Kubernetes community
• History of speaking at tech conferences or writing technical articles
• Experience working in a startup or distributed/remote team environment
