Stroke Data Abstractor

Responsibilities

• Apply specialized clinical knowledge to categorize, code, summarize, and interpret registry/case information from patient medical records
• Ensure quality submission of data in specified registries or measure data repositories with high accuracy
• Prioritize and meet tight deadlines for multiple concurrent tasks and team requests
• Navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools
• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, and abstraction guidelines
• Maintain compliance with mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements
• Keep PHI secure and confidential

Requirements

• At least one year of direct abstraction experience in the Get With the Guidelines Stroke registry
• Exposure to multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, and SharePoint)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• High standards for accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Strong self-organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct clinical experience
• RN or LPN credentials
