Job description

Responsibilities

  • Categorize, code, summarize, interpret and calculate registry/case information from patient medical records
  • Ensure quality submission of all data in specified registries or measure data repositories
  • Navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools
  • Maintain high accuracy thresholds and meet tight deadlines for multiple concurrent tasks
  • Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, and abstraction guidelines
  • Keep up to date on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements
  • Maintain high degree of responsibility in keeping PHI secure and confidential

Requirements

  • Direct abstraction experience in the Get With the Guidelines Stroke registry
  • Exposure to multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, and SharePoint)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High standards for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts
  • Strong self-organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct clinical experience
  • RN or LPN credentials
