Job description
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering mechanics and physics-based analysis methods to evaluate system performance
- Perform structural assessments using classical hand calculations, finite element analysis, and simulation techniques
- Analyze components and assemblies for strength, stiffness, fatigue life, and fracture resistance
- Support requirements development and ensure designs align with customer and regulatory expectations
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges
- Review designs, analyses, and verification activities to provide independent technical evaluation
- Generate technical reports, compliance documentation, and presentations
- Support qualification, verification, and validation efforts throughout the product development lifecycle
- Contribute to internal engineering standards, best practices, and process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 4-7 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated engineering environments
- Experience applying structural mechanics, dynamics, kinematics, and physics-based modeling
- Strong background in finite element analysis and structural simulation
- Required experience with SolidWorks
- Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, LS-DYNA, and Python
- Experience working in requirements-driven environments with compliance and regulatory responsibilities
- Must be a US Person (citizen or permanent resident)
Preferred Qualifications
- CATIA V5 experience
- Background in pressurized actuation systems, pneumatic mechanisms, or ordnance systems
- Aerospace industry experience
