Supervisory Attorney – Complex Claim Unit

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation involving the corporation and/or its insured within established guidelines
• Analyze files as litigation progresses and evaluate cases for settlement
• Oversee outside counsel throughout the litigation of complex claims
• Review motions and briefs and provide necessary feedback
• Conduct legal research and observe court hearings or trials
• Stay current on state statutes and court decisions affecting policy provisions
• Supervise litigation with high complexity across multiple lines of business

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree
• Admitted to the state bar in the state where located
• Demonstrated litigation experience
• Experience preparing civil pleadings, motions, discovery, and deposing witnesses
• Solid knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance law
• Understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the relevant jurisdiction

Preferred Qualifications

• Coverage experience preferred
• Experience providing customer-driven solutions or support
