Job description
Responsibilities
- Answer calls in a professional manner following the Interpreter's code of conduct
- Provide accurate communication between Swahili and English speakers
- Take detailed notes during calls to ensure accuracy
- Utilize industry-specific vocabulary, particularly within the healthcare and medical sectors
- Participate in internal professional training and pursue new certifications
- Communicate and report regularly to your team leader
Requirements
- Native or bilingual proficiency in both Swahili and English
- 1+ years of professional interpreting experience
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- High level of communication, listening, and memory retention skills
- High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
- Reliable Ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not permitted)
- Noise-canceling wired USB headset
Preferred Qualifications
- Awareness of legal terminology
- International healthcare industry certifications (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)
- High school diploma in your native language
