Sylheti Interpreter - OPI/VRI

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls and render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
• Apply medical and healthcare terminology knowledge to facilitate clear communication
• Provide the highest level of customer service during OPI/VRI sessions
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Sylheti and fluent English
• High school diploma in your native language
• High emotional intelligence and tolerance for different cultures
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not mandatory
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) are a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated wired internet: minimum 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• Windows 10 or higher, Intel Core i5+ or equivalent, 8GB RAM minimum
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth/wireless)
• Single computer or laptop operating in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
• No Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, or mobile devices permitted
