Tableau Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize scalable, governed, and high-performing Tableau data models within Tableau Cloud
• Own the enterprise data governance framework, including data source certification, Tableau Catalog, and metric governance via Tableau Pulse
• Implement row-level security, object-level security, and Virtual Connection-level entitlements
• Lead the design of semantic data models to support Tableau Next AI features like Einstein Copilot
• Develop optimized semantic layers using star schema design, LOD calculations, and data blending
• Diagnose and tune dashboard performance using Tableau Performance Recorder and Admin Insights
• Automate governance and content migration using Tableau REST API and Metadata API
• Partner with Data Engineering to monitor pipeline health and integrate Tableau with systems like Redshift and Salesforce

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in BI, data architecture, or analytics engineering
• 3+ years of focused experience with Tableau
• Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Cloud, site administration, and LOD expressions
• Deep experience with Tableau Catalog, Virtual Connections, and security protocols
• Proficiency with Tableau REST API and Metadata API (GraphQL)
• Advanced SQL skills, preferably with Amazon Redshift
• Strong understanding of star/snowflake schema and semantic layer design
• Experience integrating Tableau with large-scale ETL pipelines and cloud storage

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Tableau Pulse and Einstein Copilot
• Experience with VizQL Data Service
• Python scripting experience, specifically with Tableau Server Client (TSC) or VizQL SDK
• Familiarity with Salesforce integrations
