Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex technical tax issues in a constantly evolving legal environment across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Remain up to date with new laws and regulations, and their applications by tax administrations in country operations.
  • Optimize tax rate and cash management while ensuring security for the group.
  • Liaise with stakeholders with varying interests, ensuring group interests in effective tax rate and tax cash are met.
  • Prepare, validate, and ensure timely submission of tax returns (income tax, VAT, GST, withholding), including regular reporting.
  • Comment on bids, provide tax information for pricing, and advise on tax clauses in contracts.
  • Prepare and issue transfer pricing documentation.
  • File tax formalities and manage tax litigations.
  • Liaise with operating management and accounting staff to resolve tax issues and ensure correct tax accounting.
  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of internal controls for tax accounting.
  • Assess tax risks and recommend practical, objective, and technically appropriate solutions to support business objectives.
  • Provide tax advisory services and support to other departments as required.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors to secure timely and accurate advice, cost-effectively.
  • Support and defend PXGEO during tax audits.
  • Supervise Finance Specialists – Tax and external advisors.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Law, Economics, or Accounting
  • Previous experience with permanent establishment taxation, tax treaty application, and transfer pricing
  • Extensive global offshore tax experience (e.g., seismic, rig, or offshore industries)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a major accounting firm, large corporate tax department, or relevant government tax office
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and research skills
  • Highly proactive, influential, and driven
  • Advanced English (written and verbal)
  • Experience with international bids and tenders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Tax or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
