Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Operational delivery of high-quality customer-facing analytics, dashboards, monthly reports, port cost insight packs, and ad-hoc requests with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as the senior hands-on analyst handling complex reporting builds, data transformations, and deep-dive investigations.
  • Complete end-to-end production tasks: data extraction, cleaning, modelling, visualisation and narrative insight development.
  • Perform detailed quality checks on own work and team outputs to ensure compliance with Marcura analytics standards.
  • Lead by example: balance direct production (≈60–70%) with supervision/coordination (≈30–40%), and provide hands-on support during peak periods.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts, modelling best-practice techniques and data hygiene.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase output and reduce manual effort (scheduled reports, refresh logic, validation scripts).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate customer and CSM needs into tangible analytics deliverables; support QBR/EBR preparation and insight decks.
  • Partner with Engineering/Data teams by providing production-level observations to guide data fixes and ensure governance and confidentiality of customer data.
  • Apply maritime operational context (port costs, voyage operations, claims processes) to ensure analytics outputs are relevant and include narrative recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or similar Power BI certification.
  • Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate or equivalent analytics certification.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake or AWS data platforms.
  • Prior exposure to shipping, port operations, port cost workflows, or maritime services.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis, predictive modelling and basic machine learning concepts.
  • Experience working in a production-oriented analytics/reporting environment with SLAs and high-volume deliverables.
