Responsibilities
- Provide specialist technical advice and leadership to support the design and development of Green Climate Fund (GCF) Concept Notes and funding proposals.
- Strengthen climate rationale and the articulation of adaptation and mitigation measures within a specific technical area.
- Undertake technical quality assurance of drafts to ensure coherence, feasibility, and alignment with GCF requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with program design colleagues and country teams to integrate specialist technical inputs into multi-sector narratives.
- Develop knowledge products, such as technical briefs, checklists, and guidance notes, to strengthen team capability and capture lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related field such as environmental management, climate change, public health, WASH engineering, renewable energy, or education.
- 5+ years of relevant international experience providing technical advisory support in a climate-related sector.
- Demonstrated experience integrating climate change adaptation or environmental sustainability into sector programming.
- Experience working with institutional donors or international NGOs to develop concept notes or proposals.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with GCF project development, including familiarity with proposal templates and investment criteria.
- Expertise in one of the following areas: Climate-Resilient Health & Nutrition, Climate-Resilient WASH, Climate & Environmental Education, Renewable Energy Solutions, or Waste Management & Circular Economy.
- Experience working in developing countries and climate-vulnerable contexts.
- Knowledge of climate risk assessment, environmental safeguards, or Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles.
- Proficiency in other UN languages such as French, Arabic, Spanish, or Portuguese.
