About the Company

At Understood Care, our mission is to bridge the healthcare gap for Medicare patients who would like some help navigating the complex healthcare system. We match Medicare patients with assistants known as Patient Advocates to help with appointment booking, transportation, and medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audio or video patient intake appointments (20-30 minutes) to understand patient challenges
• Determine if patients are suited for patient advocacy under Principal Illness Navigation and/or Community Health Integration principles
• Collaborate with the technology team to develop innovative AI tools to enhance the clinical experience
• Thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment

Requirements

• Board certification in family medicine or internal medicine
• Active member of an IMLC state and open to acquiring additional licensure
• Possession of a PTAN/PECOS account (registration and enrollment with Medicare)
• Experience working with Medicare patients
• Proficiency with technology and ability to learn new tools quickly

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience delivering care via Telehealth
