Job description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive threat hunting using intelligence-driven methodologies
  • Analyze threat actor TTPs and map behaviors to the MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Monitor security tools, dashboards, and alerts for suspicious activity
  • Perform triage of security alerts to determine validity and impact
  • Investigate cybersecurity incidents and conduct forensic reviews of logs
  • Document findings, recommendations, and lessons learned from investigations
  • Support post-incident reviews and corrective action planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or SOC environments
  • Experience applying MITRE ATT&CK techniques during investigations
  • Knowledge of incident response methodologies and network security
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and FISMA
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, CISSP, CEH, GSEC, CASP+, or CISM
  • Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or other Federal civilian agencies
  • Experience with cloud security in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Experience protecting healthcare or biomedical research environments
