Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead design direction and establish experience standards across mobile, web, and large-scale public platforms.
  • Define and evolve a cohesive visual identity and design language that scales across products and touchpoints.
  • Run user research, design sprints, and usability testing to understand diverse user groups (citizens, students, jobseekers, policymakers, businesses).
  • Translate policy and complex data into intuitive, human-centered journeys and accessible interfaces.
  • Design end-to-end product experiences: mobile apps, public-facing citizen platforms, government portals, and data-rich dashboards.
  • Build and maintain reusable systems: patterns, components, responsive layouts, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Explore and integrate AI tools to accelerate ideation and improve design workflows.
  • Mentor and guide other designers; provide critique, hiring input, and career development support.
  • Collaborate closely with policy teams, data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes on national-scale projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering public sector or government-facing products at scale.
  • Background designing citizen services, portals, or data-driven decision-support tools.
  • Proven track record mentoring designers and shaping cross-product design systems.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and culturally inclusive design practices.
  • Additional language skills (Arabic or other regional languages) are a plus.
