UX Designer - Contract

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and advocate them across the organization
• Build deep trust with clients and forge collaborative relationships
• Continuously seek tools and processes to improve efficiency and elevate project outcomes
• Plan, facilitate, and document user and stakeholder research activities and workshops
• Define key UI behaviors with deliverables like personas, site maps, storyboards, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and service blueprints
• Translate customer insights into tangible, deadline-driven design deliverables
• Develop and maintain user interaction guidelines as part of UX design system initiatives
• Use appropriate UX design processes and efficiency measurements to ensure needs are met
• Fearlessly drive new ideas and communicate them clearly
• Collaborate extensively with strategists, UI designers, writers, business analysts, developers, PMs, and clients to craft innovative user experiences

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating user research, audience definition, experience mapping, site/app mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and spec writing
• 5+ years’ UX experience, skilled in human-centered design and information architecture
• Proven end-to-end project ownership
• Ability to lead UX workshops with teams and clients
• Experience leveraging research and data to inform recommendations
• Experience designing complex, content-heavy, and transactional websites
• Proficiency with Figma (Sketch and Adobe Creative Cloud are pluses)
• Experience with prototyping tools such as Figma, InVision, Marvel, Axure, Adobe XD, or HTML/JS/CSS
• Knowledge of UX and interaction design best practices for responsive experiences
• Understanding of accessibility design issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing for content management systems (e.g., Sitecore, Acquia)
• Agile process experience
• Requirements gathering and analysis experience
• Mobile app design experience
