Job description

Responsibilities

  • Design simple, clear, and fun interactions for web and mobile platforms
  • Own projects from initial concept through implementation, ensuring design-to-code alignment
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to define problems and ship solutions
  • Create flows, wireframes, and prototypes to explore and communicate design ideas
  • Use and contribute to the design system to support scalable, cohesive experiences
  • Present design decisions using user needs, product context, and data
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback, product goals, and UX research

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product design experience on a consumer-facing product or game
  • Proven experience working with, contributing to, and scaling a design system
  • Experience in B2B or enterprise product design, specifically for teachers or institutional users
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience using AI-assisted design tools
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, high-quality UI, and a clear design process
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, and interaction design
  • Excellent communication skills for a remote, distributed team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in chess and familiarity with kids' gaming or ed-tech platforms
  • Experience designing complex or data-rich products
  • Frontend or design engineering experience (web, iOS, or Android)
  • Experience with accessibility and inclusive design practices
