Responsibilities

  • Mentor undergraduate students through the full research process, from topic selection and literature review to manuscript development
  • Guide students in developing feasible, high-quality research questions aligned with academic and career goals
  • Provide structured feedback on research plans, literature synthesis, and written research drafts
  • Help students understand research standards and discipline-specific expectations
  • Support students pursuing outcomes such as academic papers, posters, or journal submissions
  • Track progress against defined milestones and timelines

Requirements

  • DVM, PhD, or both in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting academic or veterinary research
  • Strong background in literature review, research methodology, and scientific writing
  • Experience mentoring students or trainees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills
