Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Audit the current WordPress setup and define a comprehensive migration strategy.
  • Choose and implement a modern stack (your call-we trust your judgment).
  • Rebuild all sites with a focus on marketing autonomy: easy content updates, rapid landing page creation, and seamless localization.
  • Set up monitoring, alerting, and quality checks for the new infrastructure.
  • Establish development processes, documentation, and quality standards for the team.
  • Lead a small team (2 developers now, with plans to grow and mentor).
  • Later: build the frontend for our internal CRM (API ready).
  • Work closely with the marketing team daily to translate complex business requests into robust technical solutions.
  • Advise on technical possibilities, push back when necessary, and ensure that the websites are architected to serve key marketing goals.
  • Be comfortable discussing web analytics, conversion tracking, and campaign performance, not just code.
  • Actively use AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development while maintaining high standards, proper oversight, and code quality.

Requirements

  • JavaScript (solid fundamentals, not just framework-level)
  • WordPress (need to understand the current stack to migrate away)
  • Modern frameworks: React, Vue, or Next.js
  • Cloudflare (CDN, DNS, caching, security basics)
  • API integration (REST/GraphQL)
  • Headless CMS experience (Strapi, Contentful, etc.)
  • Basic DevOps (CI/CD, deployment pipelines)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building CMS-driven websites with a strong focus on SEO, performance, and content management.
  • Understanding of SEO and AIEO principles (how search engines and AI systems crawl and rank content).
  • Solid grasp of web analytics setup and interpretation (GA4, GTM, conversion tracking).
  • Eye for design and UX - can spot visual or usability issues and collaborate with designers to fix them.
  • Strong opinions on web architecture and CMS solutions.
  • Experience with multi-language, multi-domain setups.
  • Comfortable with AI-assisted development.
  • Can lead, mentor, and make sound technical decisions.
  • Think in systems and processes, not just code.
  • Fluent in English.
