Responsibilities

• Translate and adapt German Simplicissimus scripts into English, rewriting them in fern's voice and tone
• Adjust structure and phrasing to improve flow and clarity
• Research and rewrite sections to make content accessible for an international audience
• Check for updates and new developments on topics to keep content current
• Watch original videos to adapt on-screen text and research international equivalents for visual elements

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in English (ideally American English) with excellent writing skills
• Strong German comprehension skills
• Proven experience in translation and localization, ideally for editorial content
• Ability to adapt tone and voice to match an established channel style
• Strong research skills and high attention to factual accuracy
• Experience writing or adapting scripts for video formats
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in journalism, documentary, or factual storytelling
• Familiarity with Simplicissimus, fern, or similar documentary-led channels
