YouTube Video Editor

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube videos including talking-head pieces, UI/UX teardowns, and product deep-dives
• Manage pacing, rhythm, and storytelling to maximize viewer retention
• Perform sound design and mixing, including dialogue cleaning and music selection
• Handle visual clarity through color correction, captions, and on-screen text/callouts
• Iterate quickly on edits based on feedback loops and maintain organized project files

Requirements

• Proven portfolio or channel demonstrating mastery of pacing, sound design, and visual clarity
• Deep understanding of the YouTube format, including hooks and retention curves
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
• Ability to work independently as a part-time contractor and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills for asynchronous feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Motion graphics skills using After Effects
• Experience collaborating via Frame.io or similar tools
• Thumbnail design sense
• Previous experience editing for established YouTube channels
