Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
• Design and propose agentic workflows end-to-end (spec → plan → execute → verify) to accelerate delivery.
• Build reusable agentic primitives and workflows within the codebase to enable cross-domain application.
• Maintain high-quality standards through code reviews, debugging, and implementing robust verification loops (tests, evals, guardrails).
• Collaborate with product teams to provide technical insights and suggest product improvements.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to shared technical discussions and RFCs.

Requirements

• Proven track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows.
• Strong systems thinking: ability to define specs, break down complex plans, and instrument verification.
• Proficiency with Postgres (or similar relational databases).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• High level of AI fluency and demonstrated capability in using automation and AI tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, Nextjs, Vue, or Angular.
