Responsibilities
Technical Sales
- Own the distributor evaluation process from kick-off to wrap-up
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales team and Partner Network to understand opportunity complexity and speed up the sales cycle
- Consult customers to understand needs and objectives, tailoring evaluations and showcasing Blackline's solutions
- Train potential customers on the Blackline product line and cloud-based solutions
- Schedule feedback sessions, listen to customer needs, and adjust solutions as required
- Prepare performance reports and summaries according to outlined scopes
- Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge regarding Blackline’s products and their applications
- Serve as a technical resource during customer calls throughout the sales cycle
- Understand competitive products and inform management about market trends/applications
- Provide feedback for product improvement to the management team
Sales Development
- Research and identify potential clients via social media, networking, and industry research
- Initiate contact with potential clients via phone, email, and social media
- Demonstrate in-depth industry and competitor knowledge regarding gas detection and lone worker solutions
- Engage with prospects to qualify leads based on predefined criteria
- Schedule meetings/demos between prospects and the sales team
- Maintain accurate CRM records of lead interactions and pipeline activity
- Track lead/prospect metrics, conversions, and sales data
- Refine strategies with the sales and marketing teams; share market insights
- Provide regular updates to management on lead generation activities and progress
Requirements
- 5+ years in technical sales, sales, project management, or IoT roles (industrial workplace)
- 2+ years in sales or lead generation (preferably industrial Safety & Gas Detection industries)
- Excellent time management and organization skills — ability to multi-task up to 30 projects and adapt to shifting priorities
- Exceptional English communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, organized, and structured
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software (HubSpot preferred), and research tools (Zoominfo, Lead Forensics)
- Post-secondary diploma, degree, or technician certification
- Comfort with technology (GPS, GSM, cloud apps) and ability to learn Blackline products quickly
- Strong analytical and data processing skills
- Maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Proactive approach to overcoming obstacles and meeting targets
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, HSE, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in English (additional languages a plus)
