Senior Compliance Manager - Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain internal compliance manuals, policies and AML/CFT systems aligned with UAE and international regulations.
• Support the MLRO to ensure OKX UAE meets regulatory and legal obligations including VARA guidance and industry best practice.
• Monitor, investigate and resolve AML/CFT cases and support SAR preparation and submission where required.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, law enforcement agencies and external partners; assist in responding to legal and regulatory requests.
• Prepare OKX UAE for independent AML/CFT and compliance testing and support remediation efforts.
• Engage cross-functionally with Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product and Risk teams to implement effective compliance controls.
• Deputise for the MLRO as required; oversee compliance reviews, investigations and timely escalation to senior management and the Board.
• Produce compliance reporting, board materials and internal management reports as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, law, business or related field
• Proven experience in compliance management and as MLRO/Deputy MLRO
• Experience handling AML audits and regulatory investigations
• Strong knowledge of AML, CTF and data protection requirements
• Track record of filing SARs to FIUs and managing regulator engagements
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong project management and remediation experience
• Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and risk management capability
• Familiarity with crypto industry risks and regulatory landscape in the UAE
• Eligibility to work in the UAE

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CCEP)
• Prior in-house experience within cryptocurrency, fintech or financial services
• Direct experience with VARA or UAE-specific regulatory frameworks
• Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring systems and compliance tooling
• Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional compliance initiatives
