Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized technical support to consultants and experts working in the department/section across various areas related to tax operations at the Emirate and State levels, in line with approved directions.
  • Develop processes related to the registration of government entities for tax purposes and prepare periodic reports in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Collect and analyze data related to implementing necessary amendments to systems and work procedures concerning the department or government entities within the tax group, according to the scope of functional specialization.
  • Identify financial systems affected by federal taxes in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Tax Authority and prepare draft amendments required for the tax group to ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and legislation.
  • Submit proposals aimed at developing tax collection processes of all types in accordance with approved legislation and specified timelines, through collecting and classifying the necessary data and information to enhance tax processes in line with internationally recognized best practices.
  • Implement all procedures related to the application of tax legislation, policies, and circulars at the level of the Government of Dubai in accordance with the approved directions of the Office.
  • Prepare and review draft reports of statements related to the collection of due tax revenues, as well as processes related to tax collection, refunds, and settlements, in coordination with the concerned entities.
  • Compile and analyze data related to tax returns collected from members of the tax group and preliminarily reconcile them with government financial records.
  • Prepare the consolidated tax return and review it with the direct supervisor within the specified timeframe and in accordance with approved directions.
  • Conduct preliminary audits of tax reports, statements, reconciliations, and tax due reports related to the Government of Dubai, and identify any discrepancies with government financial records.
  • Coordinate processes related to implementing the review and audit plan for tax reports, statements, reconciliations, and tax due reports of Government of Dubai entities within the tax group, and participate in field visits.
  • Conduct initial study and review of tax reports submitted by government entities, verify their compliance with tax legislation, and follow up on correcting any related deviations.
  • Continuously ensure the proper application of applicable tax legislation by government entities within the tax group.
  • Compile and analyze data related to preparing consolidated financial reports of tax audit and review results, and provide data related to studying their impact on tax refunds and voluntary disclosure reports for the tax group.
  • Classify tax returns after receiving them from tax group members and conduct the necessary reconciliations in coordination with the concerned team.
  • Review requirements related to implementing tax registration processes for government entities and amend the tax group registration of the Dubai Government Department of Finance.
  • Actively participate in specialized work teams and committees at the department and government levels, as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Continuously follow up and stay updated on developments in the specialized field related to developing tax operations, and submit proposals to improve work procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties related to the nature of the work as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting or any related field
  • 8 years+ experience
  • Preferred Arabs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in tax operations and compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
