Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead external communications and PR for key product and business announcements across Careem verticals (Careem Pay, Careem Food, Careem Quik, DineOut, Bike, Tenants, Donations and more).
  • Draft bilingual (Arabic & English) press releases, media statements and executive briefings aligned with Careem’s tone and strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tier-one UAE and regional media across print, digital and broadcast; proactively pitch stories, interviews and features.
  • Provide strategic counsel and coordinate crisis communications with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage agency partners: provide strategic direction, evaluate performance and ensure measurable outcomes and clear ROI.
  • Identify and coordinate executive speaking opportunities, prepare talking points and media briefing documents, and support on-the-ground event communications.
  • Produce and edit high-quality content in Arabic and English for media, blogs and external platforms; maintain brand consistency and comms guidelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Social Media, Marketing, Product and Government Relations to ensure message consistency across channels.
  • Develop case studies, op-eds, articles and whitepapers with senior leaders and external partners; build documentation, templates and trackers to streamline comms processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior agency background (preferred)
  • Proven relationships with UAE journalists and editors
  • Experience in fintech, platform or consumer tech communications
  • Strong bilingual writing and editorial skills (Arabic & English)
  • Demonstrated use of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Google Gemini) to scale content and workflows
  • Track record of preparing and coaching senior executives for public appearances
