Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the UAE accounting team; establish clear goals, roles, and development plans.
  • Oversee technical accounting including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, lease accounting, capitalized software costs, and stock-based compensation.
  • Own month-end close, consolidation, and the three-statement financial package with timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage operational accounting processes: Q2C (quote-to-cash), P2P (procure-to-pay), payroll, inventory and fixed asset tracking.
  • Drive external and statutory audits (including VAT and UAE statutory filings), coordinate audit responses and ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain and optimize ERP and accounting systems; implement process controls and automation to improve efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Ops, Legal, HR) to support projects, forecasting and compliance requirements.
  • Design and enforce internal controls, policies, and documentation across accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience in public/private company settings.
  • Proven experience leading and scaling accounting teams.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (revenue, leases, ASC/IFRS nuances).
  • Hands-on ERP and financial systems experience; process and control focused.
  • Experience managing audits and statutory compliance (including VAT) in the UAE or similar jurisdictions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • 4+ years of audit experience strongly desired.
  • Prior experience at a high-growth technology company, ideally with combined hardware/software products.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/finance systems in a scaling organisation.
