Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the design and execution of high-converting Shopify e-commerce experiences, focusing on user engagement and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
  • Translate business objectives and marketing goals into intuitive user experience (UX) flows and visually compelling user interface (UI) designs.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system within Figma, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all digital assets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development and marketing teams to ensure seamless design implementation and alignment with brand strategy.
  • Drive innovation in e-commerce design by creating original concepts and iterating on designs based on performance data and user feedback.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including mastery of UX flows, design systems, component libraries, and auto-layout features.
  • Proven experience in designing e-commerce websites, with a strong preference for Shopify platform expertise.
  • Deep understanding of the online customer journey, e-commerce conversion principles, and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Exceptional eye for visual design, including layout, spacing, typography, and establishing clear visual hierarchy.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and design original, impactful user interfaces without relying on pre-existing templates or generic UI kits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly.
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to receiving feedback and iterating on designs rapidly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other e-commerce platforms beyond Shopify.
  • Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to enhance collaboration with developers.
  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices as they relate to website design and user experience.
  • Portfolio showcasing a breadth of e-commerce design projects with measurable impact.
