Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the full Finance Operations division including bookkeeping, tax, compliance, Financial Controllers, FP&A-lite, analytics and client delivery.
  • Lead and manage Financial Controllers, delivery managers, pods and offshore teams; define organisation structure, capacity planning and hiring roadmap.
  • Build scalable systems, SOPs and operating models to support rapid growth to 10,000+ SME customers.
  • Drive automation and AI-led process optimisation to reduce manual work, improve speed and increase output per FTE.
  • Ensure accurate, timely IFRS-compliant reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, tax filings, VAT/CT compliance, AML checks and audit readiness.
  • Standardise delivery models, playbooks, templates and review frameworks across pods; implement strong governance, QA and training to reduce errors and rework.
  • Own client delivery outcomes: ensure client confidence, manage escalations, improve satisfaction and reduce churn; oversee client onboarding and system configuration.
  • Partner closely with Product/Tech, Sales, Marketing and Customer Success to remove bottlenecks, support deal scoping and drive product-enabled operations.
  • Implement dashboards, KPIs, scorecards and operational intelligence to manage performance, capacity and client economics; optimise GP margins and resource allocation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a finance BPO, outsourcing firm or fintech/fin-ops SaaS
  • Deep experience managing multi-layer teams (Controllers, Account Managers, Senior Accountants, offshore pods)
  • Strong understanding of cloud accounting systems, workflow engines and financial automation tools
  • Prior experience scaling finance-delivery for SMEs or high-growth businesses
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, founder-led scale-up environments with rapid iteration
