Job description
Responsibilities
- Support the buying team across end-to-end product selection, order management and inventory control.
- Assist in placing and managing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the buying plan.
- Travel to local and international markets for buying trips, supplier meetings and product selection aligned with Ounass customer preferences.
- Collaborate with warehouse and supply chain teams to resolve shipment or stock discrepancies and follow up with suppliers for corrective actions.
- Conduct competitive pricing analysis and market research; visit competitors and report actionable insights.
- Help prepare for seasonal sales by identifying markdown opportunities and supporting stock optimisation.
- Track re-orders and maintain an up-to-date vendor database and documentation.
- Compile stakeholder feedback and produce buying feedback reports with recommendations.
- Provide customer-facing support for special orders and stock enquiries.
- Mentor and support junior team members to improve team performance.
Requirements
- Understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour and competitive analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret sales and market data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across marketing, planning and supply chain
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities
- Comfortable travelling for buying trips and supplier visits
- Passion for luxury fashion and an eye for emerging trends
- Confident presentation skills for senior stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail or buying experience within luxury fashion
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and order tracking
- Experience conducting market visits and supplier negotiations
- Ability to prepare merchandising and markdown recommendations based on sales data
