Job description

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and delivery of biannual retail product catalogs, ensuring all design elements are cohesive and compelling.
  • Track progress of specific product subcategories (e.g., Pixel Pop, Muddies, Threadies), meticulously managing deadlines for SKU definition, pricing, packaging design, and sample approvals.
  • Coordinate closely with design, sourcing, and marketing teams to ensure all product materials and visual assets are prepared and aligned for internal reviews and external retail presentations.
  • Work in tandem with the Head of Creatives, Sourcing, and Private Label teams to align on design direction, material selection, and production feasibility, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Collaborate with external manufacturers throughout the production process, ensuring designs meet stringent quality, material, and cost standards, and actively reviewing pre-production samples for design accuracy and feedback.
  • Ensure all product and packaging designs strictly adhere to established brand guidelines and overarching seasonal themes, maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual identity.
  • Support the development of cohesive product collections that align with broader campaign strategies or specific retail partner requirements, enhancing market impact.
  • Conduct ongoing research into current retail and design trends within the party goods, gifting, and lifestyle categories to inform product innovation.
  • Benchmark competitor products to identify potential areas for improvement or novel innovation opportunities, maintaining a competitive edge.
  • Prepare detailed design specifications, high-fidelity product renders, and print-ready files essential for supplier handoff, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintain organized design records, templates, and robust version control for all ongoing projects, facilitating efficient project management and knowledge retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in retail or private label product design, preferably in party products, packaging, gifting, or seasonal goods.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for creating detailed design assets and print-ready files.
  • Strong understanding of materials, print processes, dieline creation, and packaging mechanics.
  • Ability to balance creative ideation with practical, executable design solutions for mass production.
  • Excellent detail-orientation, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external partners.
  • Teamwork capabilities with creative, sourcing, and marketing departments.
  • Interest in seasonal trends (e.g., Christmas, Halloween, Birthdays) related to party and gifting industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling or mockup tools (Blender, SolidWorks, Keyshot).
  • Experience in CPG product development lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of costing implications in design decisions.
  • Ability to interpret consumer insights into product designs.
